Final work on Woody Allen Model

So its complete, everything in the image has been uv’d and had its normals applied to a lower poly version, all except the eyes and the glasses (didnt seem to be much point), pants and shoes. The rest is all normals on model.

All finally finished in Blender.Quick edit here is a wire frame version to see what its like without the mesh smooth or normals.

More Woody Allen work, this time Arm and Hand

More work for the Woody Allen model, this time the arm and hand, unfortunatly no video (was redone several times so it would have been a little boring to view). But a nice still of the arm so far, not liking the look of the nails but for now itll do. Not much detail int eh arm since itll be covered but I enjoyed doing the wrinkles ont he hand and knuckles (part sculpted , part alphad).

Today I managed to get myself out of the house to see “The Artist”, a tribute to the Silent era of film.

I believe that there has been enough advertisement to explain the principle of the film, but Id like to give a little note to the experience I had when I went to see it at the Pheonix Cinema in Leicester.

First of all I knew that it was a silent film, but surprising I was told that a number of people were asking for their money back due to not know that the film was a non talkie! I asked jokingly just how a person could just go into a film without checking up on it but I was desperate to get in quickly so I just left the question hanging. The turn out for the film was actually quite large for the small screen, having found a decent seat and prepared the film began (Ill skip the usual ads they weren’t really worth remembering). Silance….

I have not been in such a quiet theater in quite some time, the instant the credits began for the film and the logo of the movie company came up the crowd was transfixed, the scenes played along with a nice selection of music and the moments the crowd were meant to react were spot on. We laughed, we cried (manly tears!), we had thrills and even chills. I highly recommend going to see the film. Treat it as it is, a beautiful treat that you should devour and leave begging for more. And when you do leave, look up some of the classics of the Silent era, also check out Paul Mertons tv series to Silent movies and the actors that started in them.

I wish there would be more made, it was not only a wonderful recreation but it also had me relaxed and enjoying the silence of film. A wonder piece and I hope again that there will be more considered.

Woody Allen WIP test head

Developed for the 3D Cerebus movie being made through Whatcomix, done in Zbrush (duh) and will be worked on further in Blender. Retopology and hair next.With this and the other human head to work on the weekend is going to be busy busy busy.

Shock and indeed horror I can infact do humans too.

At the suggestion of a computer company I did a piece to show I could model realistic style humans.

She isnt finished, the eyelashes and hair still need to be finished and the whole thing needs to go into blender to add those (along with uving and retopology).
Total build time was 4 hours, (1 hour to build the basic head setup and the remaining 3 to clean up and retouch spots).

I had videos but they didnt record properly so I had to unfortunatly scrap them. (manly tear).

Update 1: Completed Retopology of the head (thank you shrinkwrap and Blender’s rediculously easy retopo system), Uv’d and normal map applied. Next time…..The Texturing begins.

Update 2: Texturing skin…. seem to either get imaciated or blotched….more tweaking needed.

Update 3: More work on the skin and mesh, spotted a odd issue with the bridge of the nose on the mesh, and worked on balancing the yellows and purple on the textures. I think it might be time to be time for hair and clothing, BUT FIRST! sleep. G’night all.

Final build of Kentauride in Zbrush

Final note on piece and errors, I worked on this from about 9pm on a Friday and finished at 11:00pm on the Saturday (not including sleep and food), body errors evident but was too tired to fix them today. Once in Blender it will be adjusted with added hair as well.
Annotations are included and if you want to speed along its best to keep them on for the most part.

Anyway put your feet up, grab a mug of drink and put your favourite music on.

Something Ive been cooking up for future use, sort of like a advanced greeble to help with the building of centaurs and get some practice in since my Das Hund work on Zbrush.
