Pig Sarah Body idea

Exhausting session with this model, I remeber watching “Snakes on a plane” at the beginning then the rest is a blur, then I end on “Riding Giants” (a excellent surfing documentry on BBC4). All I had was the idea in my head and untill I was satisfied I jsut kept going. I think I did good today….

Pigu2 with a rough idea of the hair it is supposed to have, Im using a old way of applying the hair, its quick and dirty and gets the job done in a evening, the newer way (using texture based shading to control the size and placement of hair) would take me a while to figure out correctly. Still, she seems to have come out well  :)

Again was trying to be motivated and found a character that I have been meaning to model for a while, based on a perticular artists (Their name has something to do with cards, hint hint). A cute pig character (actually its unfinished its meant to be a boar but I havent the time to add the hair and tusks atm).

But the render came off well enough that I thought Id post it. Build time was about 9 hours (sculpted in Sculptris then retopologised in Blender).

Ill add this to the pile of other characters I have to finish………

I found this animation whilst doing my usual web surfing, it was created with maya and built in roughly 3 months by a small group. There is a link on the youtube page to the production of it.

I was attracted to the emotion in the eyes and the stress the main character is going through, it had a feel of a late Woody Allen movie (not surprising since his face was a inspiration for one of the characters). But its those eyes that get me, they are very expressive for the scene, and the work on the face is really moving.

The sad joke I believe is that since the cast are dogs, her 12 years statement probably means she has only about 4 more years to go, not surprising then with what happens in the end. A sad but stirring short and a pretty quick fav for me, and one worth further study.

Sorry for the problems with my portfolio site, I think its a server end problem. Im also changing the domain name of this site to just Thordwilk.com, but till Im sure its not going to stuff up my access to either site Im sticking with the regular name till I sort it out, till then the site will work but might be a bit slowed down. If it doesnt load the first time just reload and it should fix the problem. Sorry for the issue. 

Problem seems to be fixed. Carry on :)

Hello all, well my hand is nearly back to normal, and I have managed to transfer over some of the files from my old 3dsmax and Maya modelling files to Blender. They are located at Blendswap.com and can be found at my user profile http://www.blendswap.com/3D-models/author/thordwilk/
Do what you want with them (for fun) but give me a little heads up so I can take a look at its progress. If its a company who is interested in using these for profit please give me a email and we can work something out.
